THE ROOM ON THE WATER

paris, france

Once upon a time, there was a villa by the Mediterranean Sea… This place was imbued with sweetness and serenity. There was a subtle and soothing light, where one could stroll amidst fresh morning lights, sparkling midday suns, and shimmering twilight. The caresses of the wind and the ebb and flow of the waves marked the days and nights of this vibrant nature.

Projet

The presence of solid wood, shaped by the hand of the artisan, brings refinement to this custom-made place. Raku plates adorn the central island and the arch-shaped niches, creating a rhythmic pattern. This Japanese ceramic technique, which through thermal shock reveals random cracks, evokes those of warm bread fresh from the oven. Other arches welcome customers who take a few minutes in this soothing place to enjoy coffee and pastries.

DESIGN PARADE
THE ROOM ON THE WATER

paris, france

This place was born from the encounter between Mickael Benichou, creator of the Liberté bakeries, and Emmanuelle Simon, interior architect.

The room by the water… This space where one finds solace, where one dreams, where one escapes. I wanted to create an intimate and soft space that transports to an imaginary world of dreams and adventures. Like an island nestled in the midst of the blue sea, a boat floating on the ripples of the water, this staging echoes memories of a hut where one would seek shelter from the sun, or a nest to fall asleep under the stars, a cocoon, a comforting bubble.
