PRIVATE APARTMENT ● 2024

bonne nouvelle

PARIS , FRANCE

After establishing her agency in 2017, Emmanuelle Simon conceived and realized her private apartment in the heart of Paris. As in all of her projects, the interior architect and designer approached this space with a global perspective, combining architecture, design, and sensory experience.

Project

The entire space was designed in a clean, raw, and natural atmosphere, with meticulous attention to detail. As one moves through the space, pieces of furniture from Emmanuelle Simon’s self-published collection are scattered throughout, featuring a mix of raku, chamotte plaster, frosted glass, and wood burl. The apartment also showcases items gathered over the years from various sources, including objects from her travels and works of art by her favorite artists.

A dedicated library reflects her passion for ceramics. The color palette of the space is fairly subdued, but the interplay of textures and materials introduces a play of shadows and lights through brushed wood and
striated stone reliefs.

Emmanuelle Simon sought to involve several artisans and artists on-site, including Delphine Messmer with her mosaic floor, Romain Guillon with his scratched raw earth mural, and the artist Hermentaire with a dreamlike piece specially created for this space.
